How the workflow connects
This journey connects the following stages. Complete the required checks at each stage before moving forward.

Open the Product's BOM Version and review its status and items.

Confirm the BOM contains at least one item.

Release and lock
Select Release BOM Version and confirm the edit-lock warning.

Verify Active status
Verify the active status, removed editing controls, and enabled Create Routing action.

- Open the Product's BOM Version and review its status and items.
- Confirm the BOM contains at least one item.
- Select Release BOM Version and confirm the edit-lock warning.

Rules to remember
- Only reviewed draft or approved versions should be released.
- An empty BOM cannot be released as a meaningful production definition.
- Releasing locks the BOM Version, and only one Version is active for the Product at a time.
- Routing must use an active BOM from the same Product.
Configure for the client
- Match product taxonomy, item codes, BOM governance, units of measure, revision control, and serial or lot tracking policies to the client's master-data standards.
- Validate the configured behaviour with approved test data in the target environment before production use.
Ready when
- The correct BOM Version is active.
- The active BOM belongs to the intended Product.
- Material inventory exists or has a replenishment plan.
