How the workflow connects
This journey connects the following stages. Complete the required checks at each stage before moving forward.

Define Shift
Create Shift definitions that reflect the Plant's working periods.

Required schedule
Enter the required name, unique code, Shift type, start time, and end time.
Provides the controlled input for the next stage. - 03Required
Valid times
Use 24-hour HH:mm times; overnight Shifts are supported.

Breaks
Give every break a name, type, and duration of at least one minute.

Schedule
Add schedule information when production varies by day or calendar.

Assign to Work Order
Select at least one valid Shift when creating each Work Order.
Step-by-step in Forge MES
- Create Shift definitions that reflect the Plant's working periods.
- Enter the required name, unique code, Shift type, start time, and end time.
- Use 24-hour HH:mm times; overnight Shifts are supported.
- Give every break a name, type, and duration of at least one minute.
- Add schedule information when production varies by day or calendar.
- Select at least one valid Shift when creating each Work Order.
Rules to remember
- Shift codes use uppercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.
- Unpaid breaks are deducted from net working time.
- A Work Order cannot be created or started without at least one Shift assignment.
- Assigned Shifts must belong to the same Plant.
Configure for the client
- Match Sites, Lines, Stations, Repair Stations, Shifts, capacity, calendars, ownership, and naming conventions to the client's approved physical factory model.
- Validate the configured behaviour with approved test data in the target environment before production use.
Ready when
- All active production periods are represented.
- Shift times do not overlap unintentionally.
- At least one Shift is ready for the first Work Order.
