Step-by-step in Forge MES
- The Plant is the overall manufacturing context used to isolate records.
- A Site represents a physical location within the Plant.
- A Line represents a production lane and receives Production Tasks.
- A Station represents a specific operational point used in a Routing.
Rules to remember
- Stations require a Site.
- Lines can reference a Site, but the current Line setup does not require it.
- A Station can exist without a Line assignment, although linking the physical structure is recommended.
Configure for the client
- Match Sites, Lines, Stations, Repair Stations, Shifts, capacity, calendars, ownership, and naming conventions to the client's approved physical factory model.
- Validate the configured behaviour with approved test data in the target environment before production use.
Ready when
- Every operation has a clear physical Site.
- Production lanes are represented as Lines.
- Work areas are represented as Stations rather than additional Lines.
