How the workflow connects
This journey connects the following stages. Complete the required checks at each stage before moving forward.
- 01Conditional
Register the Tool
Open the child Tools and Equipments page and supply the required Tool Name, Tool Code, Tool Category, Manufacturer, Model, Station, and Status.
Provides the controlled input for the next stage. - 02Conditional
Set calibration governance
Enable Requires Calibration only when the Tool is governed; this reveals interval and provider fields.
Provides the controlled input for the next stage. - 03Conditional
Record calibration evidence
Record Calibration Date, Next Calibration Date, and Result so a governed Tool moves from Unknown to a current calibration state.
Provides the controlled input for the next stage. - 04Conditional
Evaluate Maintenance Alerts
Use Trigger Maintenance Check to evaluate configured rules. A result of 0 alerts may mean that no rule matched or that required rules or source data are absent; verify both before relying on the result. Export requires alert rows.
Provides the controlled input for the next stage. - 05Conditional
Approve the Maintenance Work Order
Create a Maintenance Work Order with the required Tool and Title, then move it through Draft, Submitted, and Approved before Start is available.
Step-by-step in Forge MES
- Open the child Tools and Equipments page and supply the required Tool Name, Tool Code, Tool Category, Manufacturer, Model, Station, and Status.
- Enable Requires Calibration only when the Tool is governed; this reveals interval and provider fields.
- Record Calibration Date, Next Calibration Date, and Result so a governed Tool moves from Unknown to a current calibration state.
- Use Trigger Maintenance Check to evaluate configured rules. A result of 0 alerts may mean that no rule matched or that required rules or source data are absent; verify both before relying on the result. Export requires alert rows.
- Create a Maintenance Work Order with the required Tool and Title, then move it through Draft, Submitted, and Approved before Start is available.
Rules to remember
- Tool Name, Tool Code, Tool Category, Manufacturer, Model, Station, and Status are required.
- A calibration-governed Tool remains Unknown until a calibration record defines its result and next due date; overrides remain auditable.
- Maintenance Work Orders require Tool and Title, default to Medium and Corrective, and cannot be started before approval.
Configure for the client
- Match KPIs, dashboard filters, alert thresholds, shift handovers, maintenance plans, report access, export schedules, and audit review cadence to the client's governance model.
- Validate the configured behaviour with approved test data in the target environment before production use.
Ready when
- Calibration evidence, certificate, and next due date are current when required.
- The approved maintenance window is scheduled and the order has not been started early.
