Discover how Makoons partnered with Fynd to modernise B2B ordering, warehouse operations, invoicing and reporting through one connected commerce platform.

Many B2B companies grow successfully on manual processes. Orders arrive over phone calls, emails or WhatsApp, invoices are created manually, inventory is managed separately and finance teams re-enter the same information into accounting software. These workflows are manageable at first, but as order volumes increase they become slower, harder to track and increasingly difficult to scale.
Makoons is a leading supplier of school uniforms, notebooks and stationery, selling exclusively to schools and B2B partners. This meant every buying cycle involved negotiated pricing, recurring purchases and multiple stakeholders. Rather than waiting for operational complexity to slow growth, Makoons partnered with Fynd to build a connected B2B commerce ecosystem.
Today schools place their own orders online, warehouse operations run through a dedicated warehouse management system, invoices generate automatically and business reporting happens in real time instead of being rebuilt manually in spreadsheets.
With that vision in place, Fynd implemented an integrated B2B commerce platform together with warehouse management capabilities. Rather than solving individual operational challenges in isolation, the platform connects every major workflow into one ecosystem, allowing information to move automatically between sales procurement warehouse operations and finance.
The first step was replacing manual order collection with a dedicated storefront built for schools rather than shoppers. Every school now has its own account and logs in to browse uniforms, books, notebooks and stationery through a branded Makoons portal hosted on its own custom domain. Products are organised by category while uniforms carry variants by class and size and the platform applies school specific price lists automatically so every buyer sees the correct pricing without asking for it.
As a result, schools no longer need to contact the Makoons sales team for every purchase. They can place orders independently, review previous purchases and reorder whenever required. This reduces administrative effort for the Makoons team while giving institutional buyers a faster and more convenient purchasing experience.
Customer orders are only one part of the business. Procurement needs to move just as efficiently at Makoons.
Fynd therefore brought vendor onboarding and purchase order management into the same platform as the storefront. Vendor records are maintained centrally while purchase orders are created, tracked and monitored throughout their lifecycle, giving procurement teams complete visibility from a single dashboard instead of multiple spreadsheets.
Once procurement and ordering are connected, the next opportunity is automation.
From the moment a school places an order, the platform manages the remaining workflow automatically. Tax invoices are generated instantly, buyers receive dispatch and delivery updates over WhatsApp and email and payments are matched against bank receipts to simplify reconciliation. Instead of multiple departments coordinating manually, the entire order to cash journey runs through one connected workflow.
To eliminate duplicate accounting work, Fynd integrated the platform with Tally Prime. Every sales invoice generated within the commerce platform is posted automatically to Tally, while returns create the corresponding credit notes without manual intervention. Finance teams continue working in the same accounting system while repetitive data entry disappears, improving both efficiency and accuracy.
Because every operational workflow now runs through one platform, reporting becomes automatic as well.
Instead of rebuilding reports in spreadsheets, Makoons now uses Fynd's built-in analytics dashboard to monitor school wise sales, centre wise performance product movement and top performing buyers. With reporting generated directly from operational data, management gains faster access to accurate business insights and spends less time preparing reports.
Fynd also implemented warehouse management capabilities across the Makoons warehouse network. The solution supports inbound receiving goods, receipt notes, quality checks, putaway, picking, packing, purchase order tracking and outbound fulfilment.
Because Makoons operates without barcode scanners, the implementation was designed around hand held terminal less operations while supporting box level barcodes for outbound dispatch. The result is a standardised warehouse workflow with better inventory visibility across every location.
Individually, each capability improves a specific business process. Together, they create something far more valuable: a connected commerce platform.
Makoons did not invest in technology because manual processes had already failed. It invested because it recognised they eventually would.
By connecting B2B ordering warehouse operations procurement invoicing accounting and reporting into one platform, Makoons has built an operational foundation that can scale alongside the business.
For manufacturers, distributors and institutional suppliers facing similar challenges, the takeaway is clear. Sustainable growth depends on connected systems, automated workflows and real time visibility. Fynd brings all three together, helping businesses replace fragmented operations with a unified commerce platform built for long-term growth.
Manual processes stop working as a business grows because each step, such as taking orders over calls or WhatsApp, writing invoices by hand or re-entering sales data into accounting software, depends entirely on a person doing it correctly every time. As order volumes rise, these steps slow down, become harder to track and start causing mismatches between sales and accounting records.
A self-serve storefront lets institutional buyers log in, view their own negotiated pricing and place or track orders directly, without going through a sales team for every purchase. This removes manual quoting and order confirmation and gives buyers more control over their own purchasing.
Vendor and purchase order management works best on the same platform as customer ordering because it gives a business one place to check what was ordered from a supplier and what has actually arrived, instead of tracking procurement separately in spreadsheets disconnected from sales.
Automatic Tally Prime synchronisation posts every sales invoice and returns to Tally Prime the moment it is generated, removing the need for an accountant to re-enter it by hand. The accounting team continues working inside Tally Prime as before, minus the repetitive data entry.
Yes, a warehouse can run on a connected platform without barcode scanners by using hand held terminal less operations for inbound receiving quality checks and putaway, combined with box level barcoding for outbound dispatch. This standardises the warehouse workflow without requiring new scanning hardware.
A business typically needs tools beyond a storefront and warehouse management once it sells through more than one channel, manages a catalogue of thousands of SKUs or lists products on marketplaces. At that stage an OMS unifies orders across channels, product information management maintains one version of product data and a tool such as Konnect keeps marketplace listings and inventory synchronised.
