Merchants can create their own custom page section

Sections serve as the foundational building blocks of storefront pages. The newly introduced “Create Your Own Section” feature in the Theme Editor empowers technically proficient users to build fully custom sections from scratch. This capability is available across all React themes and is specifically designed for users with coding knowledge.

By leveraging HTML templates using Nunjucks syntax, users can define section structure and connect it to dynamic content through a wide range of input types, including GraphQL, JSON, external APIs, number, date, string, and list. These inputs enable integration of live data, structured configurations, and dynamic rendering logic. Custom CSS styling is also supported to ensure brand consistency and precise visual control.

All custom sections are Server-Side Rendered (SSR), offering improved performance and enhanced SEO outcomes.

This feature enables:

• Creation of bespoke sections tailored for product launches, promotional campaigns, or merchant-specific requirements
• Implementation of advanced layouts not supported by standard section templates
• Faster deployment of unique content without dependency on theme or platform updates
• Complete control over section structure, data sources, and styling within the theme editor
• Higher adoption of public themes, as partners and developers no longer need to maintain private themes for minor customisations

This release significantly expands the design and functional capabilities of storefront themes, offering greater flexibility, improved maintainability, and accelerated customisation for advanced users.
