How the workflow connects
This journey connects the following stages. Complete the required checks at each stage before moving forward.
- 01Recommended
Set dossier scope
In Master Traceability, combine filters and unlock dependent Product filters from their parent selection. A specific identifier list overrides the other filters, and Generate Dossier remains disabled until at least one scope is selected.
Provides the controlled input for the next stage. - 02Recommended
Choose sheets
Use the full genealogy tree with a pallet, carton, box, device, product, Component, or batch identifier. Downstream follows a finished identity to Components and lots; Upstream follows a lot toward finished units.
Provides the controlled input for the next stage. - 03Recommended
Export Stage Timeline
Recall creation requires Title and Severity. Confirm that the selected batch or tasks populate affected units and that the saved notice records them before relying on the recall response.

Step-by-step in Forge MES
- In Master Traceability, combine filters and unlock dependent Product filters from their parent selection. A specific identifier list overrides the other filters, and Generate Dossier remains disabled until at least one scope is selected.
- Use the full genealogy tree with a pallet, carton, box, device, product, Component, or batch identifier. Downstream follows a finished identity to Components and lots; Upstream follows a lot toward finished units.
- Recall creation requires Title and Severity. Confirm that the selected batch or tasks populate affected units and that the saved notice records them before relying on the recall response.
Rules to remember
- Traceability quality depends on accurate scanning and consumption during production.
- A specific identifier list overrides the other dossier scope filters.
- Stage Timeline requires a date range and at least one Work Order; select Operations within the limit shown in the deployed Forge MES environment.
- A recall notice controls the response; traceability identifies the affected scope, and the saved notice must show the assigned affected units.
Configure for the client
- Match packaging hierarchy, label templates, container rules, shipment gates, ASN needs, and genealogy retention to the client's logistics and compliance requirements.
- Validate the configured behaviour with approved test data in the target environment before production use.
Ready when
- The dossier contains the expected Work Order, operation, Component, lot, container, and shipment evidence.
- Upstream and downstream genealogy return the expected material and finished-unit scope.
- The saved Recall Notice contains the intended affected units and status.
