Before you begin
- Operator Execution Flow
- Track Serial, Lot, and Mixed Materials in Item Master
How the workflow connects
This journey connects the following stages. Complete the required checks at each stage before moving forward.
- 01Required
Transfer material to Station
Transfer required stock to the execution Station and confirm the Station inventory covers the BOM requirement.
Provides the controlled input for the next stage. - 02Required
Open Production Task
Scan or enter the Production Task ID or confirmed finished-unit serial in the Station work area.
Provides the controlled input for the next stage. - 03Required
Validate Component identities
Enter one available, unconsumed serial for every serialised BOM Component and satisfy its configured identifier validator.
Provides the controlled input for the next stage. - 04Required
Complete consumption
Select Complete & Next after all required inputs validate.
Provides the controlled input for the next stage. - 05Required
Verify genealogy
Verify the Production Task is COMPLETED and the material identities appear in consumption and genealogy history.
Step-by-step in Forge MES
- Transfer required stock to the execution Station and confirm the Station inventory covers the BOM requirement.
- Scan or enter the Production Task ID or confirmed finished-unit serial in the Station work area.
- Enter one available, unconsumed serial for every serialised BOM Component and satisfy its configured identifier validator.
- Select Complete & Next after all required inputs validate.
- Verify the Production Task is COMPLETED and the material identities appear in consumption and genealogy history.
Rules to remember
- Serialised Components require a unique available serial; an already consumed serial is rejected.
- Configured identifier validators apply during execution; for example, a Battery Pack validator may require GS1 AI 01 and AI 10.
- Material should be transferred before the unit reaches the Station that consumes it.
- Completion records material identities, inventory use, and genealogy against the Production Task.
Configure for the client
- Match operator roles, scan enforcement, material-consumption rules, equipment integration, work instructions, and exception permissions to the client's shop-floor controls.
- Validate the configured behaviour with approved test data in the target environment before production use.
Ready when
- Station inventory covers current production.
- Every serialised Component identity is unique, available, and valid.
- The completed Task and consumed identities are visible in production and traceability history.
