How the workflow connects
This journey connects the following stages. Complete the required checks at each stage before moving forward.
- 01Conditional
Repair configuration
In Repair Config, enable Auto-create repair on failure only when automatic intake is required. Set a Default Repair Station when automatically created tickets must be routed to that Station.

Step-by-step in Forge MES
- In Repair Config, enable Auto-create repair on failure only when automatic intake is required. Set a Default Repair Station when automatically created tickets must be routed to that Station.
- Use Debug Queue to triage incoming failures. Rework Board jobs originate from a failure or Disposition; the board has no create action.
- Review the linked Work Order, serial, mechanism, attempt number, and current board column.
- Select Record work and enter labour minutes, material cost, and concise work notes before selecting Complete Work.
- After Complete Work, refresh the job and confirm that its status, notes, labour, costs, timeline, and any required re-inspection state were recorded before treating the handoff as successful.
Rules to remember
- Auto-create repair controls automatic queue intake; Default Repair Station controls station routing when that routing is required.
- Attempt Limit rules are configured under Alerts and can alert, block, or block and propose scrap.
- Total and per-line repair WIP caps are optional; leaving a cap empty disables that limit.
Configure for the client
- Match inspection plans, defect catalogues, NCR and CAPA policy, dispositions, approval limits, repair and rework routes, hold rules, and scrap governance to the client's quality system.
- Validate the configured behaviour with approved test data in the target environment before production use.
Ready when
- The job remains linked to the original serial and Work Order.
- Labour minutes, material cost, and work notes are entered.
- The completed work and any required re-inspection state are visible before the handoff is accepted.
