Release
This stage contributes to the outcome: Use Forge's readiness checks to fix blockers before Production Tasks are created.
Why this connection matters: A missing active BOM is a blocker in the supported release journey.
Step-by-step in Forge
Navigation: Manufacturing → Production → Work Orders → Work Order start journey
- Open Pre-start validation: Open the prepared Work Order and select the validation step.
- Run validation: Select Validate after serials, Line capacity, and Routing are complete.
- Resolve blockers: Open each failed check and correct Product, BOM, serial, identifier, inventory, or capacity data.
- Re-run the checks: Select Validate again until no blocking result remains.
- Release production: Review warnings, then select Release Work Order and confirm the action.

Rules to remember
- A missing active BOM is a blocker in the supported release journey.
- Insufficient first-stage material blocks release.
- Later-stage shortages can be warnings because material may arrive before the unit reaches that Station.
- Required identifier shortages block release.
Ready when
- All blockers are resolved.
- Warnings have an understood mitigation.
- The Work Order changes to In Progress and creates the expected number of Production Tasks.
