Impact in numbers
A store's floor space used to limit what it could sell. Showing a customer only 2,000 SKUs means hoping they find something they like from that small selection while tens of thousands more sit unseen.
Reliance Trends decided to change this. With Fynd Horizon, the customer’s own body becomes the fitting room, the store’s screen becomes the shelf, and the garment is made only after it’s sold. One store now has the reach of twenty-five.
A physical store’s sales are capped by its space. Reliance Trends displays about 2,000 SKUs in each store, though their full catalogue is much larger. If a customer’s size or color is not there, they leave.
There are other costs to holding stock, too:
No matter how big the catalogue, the floor stays the same size. Most products never get a chance to sell in that store.
Garments sit unsold for about 45 days before being sold or discounted.
Many online returns happen because the fit was wrong, not the product. Online return rates are 8.5%.
Fast fashion tries to solve this by stocking more near customers, but it’s still a guess.
Fynd Horizon changes the model. Instead of guessing a customer’s size and preferences, it lets them scan, try on virtually and buy the exact garment ordered, with no inventory held.
A body scan creates a virtual try-on showing any SKU in the catalogue on the customer’s own body, not just on store stock.
Standard sizes ship from a nearby dark store; custom sizes go to a partner factory to be made to exact measurements.
The first store launched in March 2026, followed by a Mumbai cluster and a 24-hour factory manufacturing cycle.
The store now shows 50,000+ SKUs from Fynd’s catalogue, instead of the 2,000 physical items - a 25 times bigger selection.
Made-to-order garments have zero inventory holding days, compared to about 45 days for stocked items.
Body scans reduce fit-related returns to under 2%, compared to 8.5% online today.
A one-time body scan with photos creates a 3D body model capturing key measurements.
Browse the full catalogue on an in-store screen or tablet, filterable by occasion, color, trend or price.
Try on virtually, rendered on the customer’s body with size recommendations from the scan.
Buy with one tap - manufacturing starts immediately, with live updates from order placement to fabric cutting.
The garment is made from raw fabric, cut and sewn exactly to the customer’s measurements.
Delivery arrives in half an hour for standard sizes or within days for custom-made pieces.
Stores used to limit what brands could sell. Fynd Horizon removes that limit, what customers see no longer depends on what fits physically in the aisle. For Reliance Trends, one store can now carry the reach of twenty-five, unsold stock stops piling up, and garments are only made when chosen.
