Impact in numbers
The beauty brand isn't like most beauty brands. Back in 2018, while everyone else was chasing trends, they did something different, they built a research lab and a factory before they even had a product to sell. Science first, everything else second and the customers were very happy with their approach. Today they run four brands. Their total revenue hit ₹300 crore in FY25, they turned profitable, and a global beauty company is reportedly in discussions for a potential partnership.
So when a company like that came to the AI skin analysis platform, it was clear that the stakes were high. They weren't shopping for a feature, they were looking for a team that could build them a custom AI skin analysis system that worked end-to-end. The collaboration resulted in some of the strongest scan-to-cart numbers we've ever seen in Indian D2C.
The beauty brand first discovered the AI skin analysis platform through its ecommerce plugin. They wanted to bring the AI skin analysis experience to their custom mobile application, which was built on a mobile app platform.
With a high volume of orders already flowing through their platform, the beauty brand wanted to go beyond simply selling skincare products. Their goal was to help customers find solutions tailored to their individual skin concerns rather than recommending generic creams or serums.
Their requirement for the AI skin analysis platform was straightforward: seamlessly integrate an AI-powered skin analysis experience into their existing mobile app ecosystem without disrupting the rest of their technology stack. They needed a solution that could enhance personalization while working harmoniously with their current infrastructure.
The AI skin analysis platform took the challenge of building an AI skin analysis system for two of the beauty brand's skincare labels from scratch. Our team spent three months figuring out what no one else had done before, a fully custom mobile app integration, layered on top of our existing ecommerce plugin.
This architecture didn't exist anywhere before we built it. We created it specifically for the beauty brand, specifically for this problem. We didn’t just stop there, to make the follow-up structure easier for the beauty brand, we also wired in a customer engagement platform so their CRM team could capture every scan, every recommendation and every cart action in real time.
More than 20,000 customers completed a skin scan, and nearly 9,000 went on to add a recommended product to their cart. That translates to a scan-to-cart conversion rate of almost 49%, far above the typical ecommerce conversion benchmark of 2-4%.
One product stood out in particular. The beauty brand's hyaluronic acid serum generated over 1,000 cart additions directly through AI-powered recommendations. Meanwhile, engagement continued to accelerate, with the experience delivering 2.4× week-over-week growth from Week 1 to Week 4.
The most important number, however, is that 49% conversion rate. It shows what happens when customers receive recommendations tailored to their unique skin concerns instead of generic product suggestions. When the advice feels relevant and credible, customers don't just browse, they take action.
What makes this collaboration even more interesting is where it began. Not with a marketing campaign or a new product launch, but with an integration challenge. Solving that challenge with the AI skin analysis platform enabled the beauty brand to give a seamless AI-powered skin analysis experience that now stands as one of the strongest skin-analysis-to-commerce conversion stories we have seen in the Indian D2C ecosystem.
