Theme Editor

New Feature

Merchants can create their own custom storefront page sections with AI using natural-language prompts

Sections serve as the foundational building blocks of storefront pages. Available across all React themes, this update enables merchants to create custom sections with artificial intelligence from natural-language prompts, optionally guided by images. Merchants, with the help of AI, can bind rich data sources to generate the HTML structure and dynamic content, and define configurable settings so that layout and behaviour can be adjusted without changing code.

The supported inputs and data sources include GraphQL, REST API, JSON, String, Number, Date, List, Image, Video, URL Builder, and Colour Picker. All custom sections are server-side rendered and explicitly optimised for SEO. The upgraded interface streamlines data binding, styling, and preview.New Capabilities and Enhancements

  • Natural-language prompts to generate sections: Merchants can create custom storefront sections directly from plain-language instructions.
  • Optimise and customise with follow-up prompts: After generation, merchants refine layout, content, and behaviour using additional prompts.
  • Upgraded interface: An easier-to-use UI with a clearer flow for generation, data binding, styling, and live preview, enabling faster iteration.
  • Image-aware prompting: Merchants can attach reference images to guide layout and visual style during generation.
  • New data source input types: Newly added inputs include Image, Video, URL Builder, and Colour Picker.
  • Unified HTML and CSS editor: Structure and styles are authored together in a single coding surface to reduce context switching.
  • AI error detection and fixes: The editor identifies common template and styling issues and offers automatic corrections.
  • Configurable settings without code changes: Layout and behaviour, such as cards per row, breakpoints, and pagination, can be controlled through configuration.
  • Import pre-built section templates from the Section Library: Merchants can start from curated templates and then customise them using AI and configuration.
  • Create blocks with AI prompts: In sections that support block (Repeatable, configurable units within a section) addition, merchants can generate and insert custom blocks using natural-language prompts.

What is in it for merchants:

  • Faster launches with AI: Move from idea to live section quickly, reducing dependence on developer bandwidth.
  • No-code adjustments: Control layout and behaviour via configuration, for example cards per row, breakpoints, and pagination.
  • Bespoke sections for campaigns: Create sections tailored for product launches, promotional campaigns, and merchant-specific needs.
  • Advanced layouts beyond templates: Implement complex designs that standard section templates do not support.
  • Lower maintenance with public themes: Adopt public themes confidently and avoid maintaining private forks for minor customisations.

This release adds AI-assisted creation and refinement, significantly expanding storefront theme capabilities for merchants with more flexibility, quicker customisation, and better long-term maintainability.

Search & Listing

Enhancement

Location Support in Merchandising

We’ve added support for location-based filters in the merchandising query conditions. This enables merchants to apply merchandising actions specifically to search results tied to a given location.

Order Management System

Enhancement

Optimized Sequencing for Bulk Invoice and Label Downloads

Bulk downloads of invoices and labels are now automatically sorted in the same sequence as shipments processed in bulk and moved ahead for packing, based on shipment creation time. Previously, invoices and labels were downloaded in random order, making it difficult to match them with their respective shipments. With this enhancement, merchants will now receive invoices and labels in a consistent, sequential order aligned with shipment processing—enabling faster tracking, easier reconciliation, and smoother operations.
