Follow the arrows from left to right. Each stage prepares the information the next stage needs.

Step-by-step in Forge
Navigation: Manufacturing → Process & Engineering → Routing
- Open Routing: Open Process & Engineering and select Routing.
- Start a Routing: Select Create Routing, then choose the Product, active BOM Version, name, and applicable Variants.
- Build the flow: Add one Start node, the required operation nodes, and one End node.
- Assign Stations: Select a main Station and a different Repair Station for every operation that can fail.
- Connect and configure: Connect all nodes, then add required Components, tools, instructions, quality checks, and packaging settings.
- Validate and activate: Select Validate, resolve every error, save the Routing, and set it to Active.

Rules to remember
- A Routing needs at least one operation Station.
- Every operation requires a Repair Station different from its main Station.
- Disconnected operations are not a valid executable process.
- Loops are allowed only when they have a clear exit condition.
Ready when
- Start and End are present.
- Every operation is reachable from Start.
- Every operation has valid main and Repair Stations.
- The Routing is active and uses the correct active BOM.
